It's not too late to plant, but is not the ideal time. You more than likely not get any blooms this season. Be sure to add some bone meal or blood meal on the ground when plants that flourish will be better prepared for next season.

No do not, and do not want the CFL bulbs anyway. They contain mercury, which is far more dangerous to the environment. What they want are the LED bulbs are available. Expensive, but that use a lot less electricity and should last a lifetime.

what is a good light bulb and hood / fixture used for reptiles?

I currently We have a bearded dragon, Uromastyx, chameleon, and the tortoise sulcata. I've been using 8.0 for the chameleon ReptiSun and ReptiSun 10.0 for others. I have the bulbs in Aquarium old bell accessories, but I am looking to buy new accessories like mine are getting old. Are there any accessories that you would recommend? Wal-Mart sells fluorescent lighting is supposed to be mounted under cabinets. The 24 "is a bit more $ 8. You have to remove the plastic cover, but a great job. You can also get the adhesive hooks, mounted on the inside of your tank, and hang this device by the nail holes. This will get your closer UVB your pet (10 ReptiSun should be 6-8 "of the animal for optimum efficiency). If the device gets zilla, remove the bulb. It sucks, even crappier than some of the others. I think the fixture comes with a plastic cover over the bulb, which also must be removed. If you're in an aquarium hood, I would keep an eye on Craigslist for a used one. The new ones are a bit expensive. But I'm cheap like that, lol.
