The use of CFL lamps and sockets sensor-the dark?

Hi, I'd like to replace some of the spotlights with compact fluorescent lamps, but now have outlets in these devices detect when it is dark and then turn on the light. I suspect these CFLs will not work for compact fluorescent lamps do not work with things like voltage regulators. Does anyone has tested this? Is there an alternative preparation? Congress and the President have passed the new energy bill that calls for better fuel economy for automobiles in 2020. It also calls for the elimination incandescent bulbs by 2012. What are your thoughts on this matter? How does it affect? Personally, I use them now, so I think it is a great idea. What do others think?
