My tulips are over, and I took the bulbs in the pot after letting them stay on the floor for a while. I searched the web, including answers but still do not know if I should keep them in the freezer or in other ways. Do I have to wash (above ground) before storing it somewhere? * I live in Ontario, Canada. - Winter here is very cold and long term. - Lives in an apartment.
"Some bulbs are not winter hardy, so these bulbs in cold climates should be lifted and stored for use next season. The bulbs can be stored in a paper bag. You must be stored in a dark, cool, dry place well ventilated. Make sure the temperature is constant. Regular inspections should be made and the bulbs that show signs of mold or decay removed. Shaking the bulbs in a plastic bag with a little fungicide is a good preventive measure. All physically damaged bulbs should be discarded. "

Ok so I learned that the bulbs of tulips are provided by the Netherlands, is it true??
That's right. In 1945, the family Royal Netherlands sent 100,000 tulip bulbs to Ottawa in gratitude for hosting the Canadian Princess Juliana and her daughters in the last three years, during the occupation Nazi in the Netherlands in the Second World War. The most noteworthy event during their stay in Canada was the birth in 1943 of Princess Margriet to Princess Juliana in Ottawa Civic Hospital. The maternity ward was officially a temporary part of the Netherlands, so the declaration could be made formal birth that has occurred in the Netherlands. In 1946, Juliana sent another 20,500 bulbs requesting that a display be created for the hospital, and pledged to send 10,000 bulbs each year.
